Rich , it still seems unbelievable that you're gone . Rich I had a made cupcakes for the kids yesterday and we sang Happy Birthday just what you wanted to do. I remember our last conversation you said to me what would make you happy is to have a cake and celebrate your birthday with me and the boys. even though you aren't here physical we celebrated it just like u would want. Rich , it's just getting harder me missing you , sleepiness nights long days , I just listen to your messages on my voice mail , and it just makes it seem more unbelievable that you're no longer here Your last voice mail to me was Love ya take care <3 it's hard to listen to them but i did today for the first time & i will cherish them forever I even recored them on my phone ,,,,Thomas sleeps with your Jets Jersey & the irish flag every night , He told me tonight Grandma I love pop pop why can't i talk to him ,I just had to hold back my tear i felt like somebody stabbed me in my heart , Thomas & I were talking to you before he fell asleep , And his last words were THUMBS UP POP POP I MISS YOU & LOVE YOU .. Rich , it's 11;30 as I sit here with tears rolling down my face in disbelief that you're gone , my heart is heavy & torn apart , I no you're not suffering no more , I'm so glad the last few years we brought each other happiness ,I remember coming up to the hospital back in 2010 & all the nurses would say to you here she comes bc that is all you wanted was me being by your side & i was , And I wouldn't change 1 thing if i had to do it all over again, you were always they to help me & my family in anyway you could , I can't believe there is no more tomorrow for us , now all i have is memories , I could sit here all night writing to you but I can't right now it's to painful & so many to mention , all the hopes & plans are gone now & I have to now deal with the heartache till we meet again ONE SWEET DAY ,Love you forever , sleep in heavenly peace ,broken hearted me , Carol

My sister Theresa called me this afternoon to let me know of Rich's passing. The memories of my childhood in Brooklyn started flooding in of parties at the Fontaine's Ave L house, whiffle ball games, Halloween and other neighborhood things we used to do. I can't think about being a kid without thinking about Richie. My deepest condolences go out to all of you for your loss.

Rich,
I am terribly sad about the news of your passing but I will always remember your enormous heart. I met you through your sister many years ago and you were our bodyguard, our protector; you made sure your sister and her friends were always safe and taken care of. That trait followed you throughout your life. I attended benefits you organized for a friend in need, I was at block parties you DJ'ed to make sure everyone was having a good time. I watched you play with your nieces and nephews and grandkids, a big teddy bear with a great big heart. I have two favorite memories of you that I will always cherish; the beautiful send off you gave to your dad on his funeral day, and a few years later, when you were the first to escort your sister down the aisle on her wedding day. Of course you were first, always the bodyguard, always the protector, always a heart of gold. Please continue to protect your mom and brothers, sister and family who loved you so. Rest in peace dear Rich.

To My Dear Brother Rich,
My heart is broken in a million pieces. For all of these years that you have been suffering, I just never thought this day will come. I am so grateful that when we talked on Saturday you sounded so upbeat, strong and happy. I truly thought you were going to be ok. I will miss your sarcasm, I will miss your teasing but most of all I will miss the kindness that was always in your heart. All of the times that we shared both good and bad, my love for you never faltered.
