Obituary of Vivian H. Gavitt
Vivian Gavitt, age 94, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. Vivian was born on May 17, 1930, to Ernfrid and Alma Peterson. She was the loving wife of the late Thomas Gavitt Sr. and the beloved mother to the late Thomas Jr (Katie), Frederick (Jeannie), Helen Poore (Danny), Joseph (Carol), and Robert (Teresa).
She was a devoted “G”Ma to Katie (Clarence), Mary (Brian), Kelly (Mike), Jenn (Fred), Helen (Rob), Caitlin, Jaclyn (Jesse), Kerri (Rob), Freddie, Richie and Michael and the great “G”Ma to Kali, Jordan, Vivian, Joey, Glen, Matthew, Lola, Emma, Jake, Logan, Duane, Dani and Connor. Loving sister of the late Edith Goodwin, and affectionately known as Aunt Viv to her many nieces and nephews. Vivian will be greatly missed by Boots, Bright Eyes, Spot Face, Meanie, and Sonny Boy.
She was the heart of every family gathering, from lively Sunday dinners to countless celebrations of life’s milestones. “G”Ma treasured these moments, making sure every occasion was filled with warmth and joy. She also enjoyed simpler pleasures, such as spending time with her family at Kiddie Beach, playing Bingo, and visiting Atlantic City for a bit of fun and excitement. Her love for life and her ability to bring people together will never be forgotten.
Vivian’s love and spirit will remain with us always, as she continues to live on in the hearts of her family and all who loved her.
“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again.”
