Obituary of Roosevelt Wayland

In Loving Memory of Roosevelt Wayland

April 13, 1961 – March 19, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Roosevelt Wayland, who departed this life on March 19, 2025. Born on April 13, 1961, in Dominica to Wildina Alcendor Wayland and Lancelot Wayland, Roosevelt was a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, chef, and friend with a heart of gold.

Roosevelt had an undeniable passion for cooking, dedicating the majority of his life to his craft as a chef. The kitchen was his sanctuary, and love was always his secret ingredient. He had a special gift for bringing joy to those around him, not only through his culinary talents but through his infectious laughter and warm spirit. He was often the life of the party, filling every room with light and laughter.

Roosevelt leaves behind his wife, Kathy Wayland, and his daughter, Aunnica Wayland. He is also survived by his siblings: Sketh Gerard Wayland, Prudencio Wayland, Adwina Magloire, Clement Charles, Wilmoth Pogson, and Bernard Joseph. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law, Veraline Wayland, Magdaline Charles, Juliette Pogson, and Corinthia Joseph.

His legacy of love and kindness continues through his 34 nephews, 28 nieces, and an astounding 118 grand-nieces and nephews, along with countless cherished friends too numerous to name.

Roosevelt’s presence in our lives was a gift, and though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will live on in the memories he created, the laughter he shared, and the love he poured into everything he did.

May he rest in eternal peace.
