From the time we were just kids, Lena has been there. And lord knows she would let you know it too because there was no one else like her. I don't know a single other person who just by her laugh could cause an entire family gathering, theater, or simple night in to be on the floor hysterical. Such was her gift and i've had the priviledge to set her off more than a few times and was happy to do so. New Years Eve when our power went out will still be one of my favorite all time memories because without her my antics would have been the dullest thing ever. Thank you Lena, for making my life so full of raucous, unbridled joy whenever you were around. It was an honor, a priviledge, and my great fortune to have had you for most of my life. I love you, I miss you, but I will not forget you. Ever.

Lena You left us far too soon. Since I met you I was always amazed about how much you enjoyed life---you were always laughing and making those around you laugh. You accepted everyone without question and never judged anyone. All that mattered to you were your friends and family. You only wanted to give and help others and never wanted anything for yourself, you were a truly amazing loving person and you will be missed by all. But most of all you laughed at my jokes. Love you and miss you.

Marie Elena,
There aren't words to describe the depth of our loss. You were a great friend to all, a wonderful "Aunt" to James, and we will all miss you dearly.
Hopefully you're watching over us and finally watching a basketball game. I will always think of you now when I'm watching basketball, because that was our running joke.
R.I.P Aunt Elena

I have waited to do this because it just doesn't feel real yet. Just yesterday, you called me on my birthday and who was to know that was the last time I'd hear you call me your darling Jamesy? If I had known, I would have kept you on the phone just a little bit longer. It feels like just last week we took that long trip down to Florida and you kept asking for the peanut butter cookies. I can remember watching "Rat Race" for the first time and having you slap your leg with a spatula. There are so many memories I could write down, but I don't think I could totally capture all that you meant to me just by giving memories. I miss your laughter, and I miss your hugs. I miss being able to tell you all about my time away, and have you listen to every word, excited for me to be an adult living my life. I will never forget what you taught me; always wear a smile on your face, and never go a day without laughing. I will carry on your legacy all my life. I love you, Aunt Lena. Rest in peace with the most wonderful and hilarious of angels.

So glad we were friends!! It is right for me to feel this way about you.. since I have you in my heart..May the Lord show kindness to you, as you have shown to me.. You always let me blow off steam, And when I made a huge mistake, you kindly ignored me..You let me be just who I am.. And for that I will always be grateful.. Bless you my special friend, I'm glad you came my way.. Always in my Heart. RIP!!
