Our hearts broke when we heard of the passing of Mr. Billy Reid. I have such wonderful memories of growing up with all the funny stories and seeing Billy and Tommy Reid. Both men were so close to my father, Johnny Boy Kelly. Yes, they were known to get in a bit of trouble on "rain outs" and "pay days." They were the backbone of Local 46. As my father would say "no matter what you always make the "shape." Mr. Reid I will never forget you!! Even after everything you owned was washed away by Sandy you still came to say goodbye to my father. I consider myself blessed to have crossed your path while you were here on earth. Condolences to all you have left behind and prayers for comfort. You and Mrs. Reid raised a beautiful family and your life continues through them. I am sure you are watching and smiling down on them. Peace, Lori Ann Kelly-Brown and family

Mr. Reid was one of the most caring and sweetest people you could meet. He always had a smile on his face that would light up the rooms. He always made me feel like I was part of the family. He scored his wife Teri, his children, and grandchildren. He was so proud of all of you. He always had a twinkle in his eye when he spoke about his family. May you rest in peace Mr. Reid xoxo

WHERE TO START WITH SUCH AN AMAZING MAN AND FATHER. AS PART OF CHRISTINE'S CORTLAND GANG, I THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO YOUR FATHER AND FAMILY. IT WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO BE INVITED DOWN TO THE BEACH. NOT ONLY DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE IN FOR GREAT FOOD AND A GOOD TIME WITH CHRISTINE AND GOOSE, BUT A TON OF LAUGHS FROM MR. REID AND MRS. REID. HE WOULD COME OUT WITH SOME REALLY FUNNY THINGS ESPECIALLY WHEN HE CAME BACK FROM HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS. I'VE HAD THE HONOR OF BEING A PART OF HORSE--IT BACK FROM SPRING BREAK 1994! WHAT A SLEEPOVER BEFORE THE BAHAMAS!I AM HONORED AND PLEASED TO SAY THAT MY 4 CHILDREN HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING TO KNOW HIM. THE WORLD MAYBE A BIT SADDER WITHOUT HIM HERE BUT HEAVEN I'M SURE IS A HECK OF A LOT MORE LIVELIER THAN IT HAD EVER BEEN!

Mr. Reid, you will be terribly missed. Whenever Christine and Goose would have a Cortland get together, I always looked forward to seeing YOU, along with Mrs. Reid, in addition to our group of friends. You were always the life of the party and always made us laugh. In addition, you had a heart of gold and I loved watching you with your grandchildren. As you look down upon your family from heaven, you have so much to be proud of. You have clearly left a legacy of love and zest for life. I can say with certainty that you raised an amazing woman in your daughter Christine, as she is one of the most special people to ever come into my life. Your legacy of laughter and love will live on among your family and friends. May you rest in peace. We will all see you again one day at "The Sugar Shack" in the sky.
Love,
Suzanne O'Shea and family
