Obituary of Lillian Hernandez

Lillian "Chulita" Hernandez passed away on January 8, 2023. She was 55 years old. Lillian was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Angel Luis and Dolores Hernandez on October 9, 1967.

Lillian attended Midwood High School and graduated in 1985. She went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Accounting at Kingsborough Community College.

Lillian made an 18-year career with the New York City Department of Sanitation, where she proudly served as a Sanitation Supervision.

Lillian loved being a jet setter - she often traveled on many vacations and cruises. She enjoyed experiencing different plays and museums. Lillian took great pride in her fashion and loved to go shopping. Lillian always had a passion for animals.

Lillian continued to support her alma mater by becoming the Midwood High School Booster Captain. She also participated in the New York City Sanitation Honor Guard.

Lillian is survived by her children Jorge, Tatiana, and Joshua Gutierrez; her siblings Louis (Julia) Hernandez, and Ruth (Basilio) Morales; her sister-in-law Magaly Gutierrez; her nephews Basilio Eric Morales III (Naomi,) Jason Morales, Jr., Louis Hernandez, Jr., and Joshua Cordero; her nieces Jacqueline Hernandez-Lewis (Tim,) Yanira Mendez, and Yoalis Mendez-Soto; and her great  nieces and nephews Sofia Morales, Basilio Eric Morales IV, Dwight Morales, Cole Morales, Sebastian Lewis, Raphael Lewis and Emilio Lewis.

The visitation for Lillian Hernandez will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Sunday, January 15, 2023, and Monday, January 16, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 AM. The Committal Service will immediately follow the Funeral Mass at Green-Wood Cemetery.
