Obituary of Vilma Polito

Vilma Polito, age 92, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 15, 2024, just 7 days shy of her 93rd Birthday. She was born on February 22, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York. Vilma was the youngest daughter of the late John and Julia Losio. Beloved mother of George, loving mother-inlaw of Alison, and loving grandmother of Amanda, Emily, Brooke, and Jake. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved late husband of over 55 years, George, and her sisters Gloria and Norma.

Vilma had a few jobs over the years and enjoyed working, she was a dedicated care giver and companion for friends and family members that were in need of help. She was a part of many groups and enjoyed activities with her friends. She was on a bowling team and also played Mahjong every Monday night with the ladies. Painting ceramics was on Thursdays, and a trip to Atlantic City with George was at least once a month.

The real joy of her life were her 4 grandchildren and she never missed a chance to take them out for the day or come over to watch them for the night. Whether it was going to shows at the Rockaway Theater, visiting the horses at Fort Tilden, singing songs in the car, watching movies or playing card games, it was never a dull moment together. She had a loving way about her and will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Monday, February 19, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, located at 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.

A Funeral Mass to honor Vilmas's life will be held at 9:45 AM on Tuesday, February 20th, at St Francis DeSales Church, 129-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd. 11694

Committal service will immediately follow to Holy Cross Cemetery. 3620 Tilden Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11203.

As we bid farewell to Vilma, we will always remember the beautiful memories shared and keep her in our hearts forever. May she find eternal peace and be joyfully reunited with those family and friends who have gone before her.
