Obituary of Henry J. Cirino
Henry J. Cirino, age 86, of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Henry was born on April 12, 1938, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Vincent and Teresa (Bassano) Cirino.
Henry is survived by his children, Vincent Cirino (Ivette) and Jeanmarie Lloyd (Russ). Beloved grandfather of Teresa, Marisa, Liam, Nicholas, Zachary, Brendan, and Jack, and great-grandfather of Lillian. He was the dear brother of the late Francis, the late Vincent, the late Robert, and the late Carmine Cirino.
A lifelong resident of Marine Park, Brooklyn, Henry dedicated 29 years of service to the FDNY, beginning his career in 1965 and retiring in 1994.
Known for his dependability and generosity, he was deeply charitable to both his church and his grandchildren. Henry was a devout Catholic who valued strength, stoicism, and conservative principles.
As a parent, Henry was old-fashioned and strict. He held firm to his values, emphasizing respect above all else. Though opinionated and often insistent on his own views, he enjoyed teasing and kidding around, especially with the grandkids. He brought joy to his family in his unique way.
He adored his mother, holding her in the highest regard and considering her a saintly woman. Henry had a special passion for his cars, keeping them in pristine condition and always stored in a garage. He was a dedicated football fanatic, with Sundays reserved for uninterrupted game-watching.
Henry was a friend who would be there for you if you needed a hand with something or were stranded at the side of the road. Dependability and punctuality were among his greatest strengths.
Henry fell ill suddenly last August, and his condition deteriorated from there. He did not acknowledge the severity of his illness and insisted on being independent at every cost. He was prideful, not wanting to admit his pain, and didn’t want his friends to see him vulnerable.
Henry's best friend, Billy, was very saddened by his death and will miss him always. He also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Anna. They were close, laughed a lot, and were always there for each other, sharing a very special bond.
My wish is that Dad finds peace and the ability to let go. Jeanmarie Lloyd.
Henry J. Cirino will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
