Obituary of Felix Perez
Felix "Papo" Perez Morales, born on February 4th, 1958, passed away peacefully on June 14th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Felix was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known for his sense of humor, playful spirit, and dedication to his family.
Felix is survived by his devoted wife, Denise (nee Orr). Her selflessness and tireless devotion ensured that Felix's days were filled with comfort, love, and dignity.
He is also survived by his beloved daughter, Jennifer, his son, Kevin, and daughter-in-law, Johanna. He was a proud and adoring grandfather to his grandchildren, Shea and Kevin Jr., who brought immense joy to his life. Felix also leaves behind his beloved siblings Carmen, Nydia, Irma, Hilda, Maria, Nereida, Miguel and his devoted youngest brother Willy. Felix was predeceased by his parents, Julia Morales Aviles and Felix Perez Gonzales, his sister Miriam, and his grandson Mitchell, whose memory he honored throughout his life.
Felix was always available to help others in need. He volunteered at Ground Zero in the aftermath of 9/11, demonstrating his bravery and compassion during a time of crisis. He also dedicated his efforts to helping families get back on their feet after Hurricanes Maria and Sandy, providing crucial support in the most challenging times. Whether it was helping a neighbor with their garden, clearing snow after a storm, or performing countless other small acts of kindness, Felix's generosity knew no bounds. The family hopes you will keep his memory alive by performing acts of kindness whenever you can.
Felix's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family and his remarkable ability to bring laughter and fun to any room. He had a natural talent for making those around him smile, often with a playful twinkle in his eye. The legacy Felix leaves behind is one of love, laughter, and resilience in the face of hardship. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 21st, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Marine Park Funeral Home (3024 Quentin Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11234). The funeral will take place on Saturday, June 22nd, at 10am at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church (2992 Ave. S, Brooklyn, NY 11229).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital in Felix's memory.
Felix will be deeply missed, but his laughter, love, and mischievous charm will forever remain in our hearts.
