Obituary of Michael Watkins
Michael Watkins, age 81, of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Mr. Watkins was born on March 19, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of the late Stanley and the late Julia (Reilly) Watkins.
Michael proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War from April 8, 1965, to January 9, 1967. His distinguished service earned him several honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Combat Infantry Medal, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Overseas Bar. After his active duty, he continued his commitment to the nation as a National Guard Reservist until his service retirement.
Beloved brother of the late Stanley Watkins, the late John Watkins, the late David Watkins, the late Julia Kriete, James M. Watkins, and Margaret Hayes. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember his kindness and love.
Michael will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of service and dedication will be cherished forever.
Reposing on Sunday, October 20 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
