Obituary of Edward P. Oliva

Edward Oliva, 80, of Toms River, New Jersey, passed away, Friday, December 13, 2013 at his home. Edward was born November 1, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a peace officer at Triborough Bridge & Tunnel Authority for twenty-eight years, serving mostly at the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel facility as a Sergeant until he retired in 1995. He enjoyed discussing politics and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Edward is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Catherine Oliva (Tyrell); his son Anthony Oliva and his wife Cheryl of Birmingham, AL; his daughter Jennifer Ralph and her husband Kevin of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren, Kevin and Jessica Ralph, and Claire Oliva; his sister Josephine Tacopina; his brother John Oliva; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Vitina Oliva; his brothers Matthew and Joseph; and his sister Marion.
