I was looking through old pictures yesterday with my mother Grace Townsend Lowber who is 93 years old and living in assisted living. I wanted to identify the people in the pictures, and Mom and I had a good time looking through them. There are several pictures of her in uniform, she was a WAC in WWII, and a couple with another WAC. She said this was Anne Watters, her best friend in the Army, from Brooklyn. She said Anne had become a police officer, and was very proud of her family's tradition of serving in the police force. On a whim I googled Anne's name, and have found this tribute to her and her life. Mom has lived in Washington State for the last 62 years, and I am not sure when she lost contact with her friend Anne, but I am looking forward to showing her this later today. I am very sorry for your loss, but it looks like Anne had a good life surrounded by a large and loving family. I wish you all well.
Sincerely,
Leslie St. Pierre

Love and thoughts to all of you at this time. Your mom, grandmother was such a lovely lady! It makes me feel good to know we have another Saint in heaven to look over us and hear our prayers. I know her prayers have helped me already over the years.
She also provided me with one of the greatest blessings of my life...her daughter Anne, my dear friend. Anne, I am hugging all of you with my heart!
Much love,

I will always admire Grandma Cronin not just for what she accomplished in life, but for the way she was adored by those who were privileged to call her mom, grandma, sister, aunt, or friend. I am eternally grateful for the wonderful memories I have with her, which I will cherish forever.

It is truly an honor and a gift to have known Anne, known to me as Grandma Cronin. So much more than just an amazing grandmother, she was a strong, accomplished, and always witty woman who led an incredible life here on Earth. She will be missed dearly.
