Marie was my neighbor, but she and I only connected in the last two years. I knew her Mom very well as occasionally I'd accompany on her daily walks and she would tell stories about the neighborhood. Angie was also very down to earth and one of five Italian families in the block when we moved to Canarsie. As I got to know Marie, she would regale me with stories of the Canarsie of her youth and she even shared some old photos of Canarsie with me. She was hilarious and was always quick with a joke. She loved chocolate cupcakes and occasionally I'd bring her one and we'd sit and have tea and chat. She reconnected with her friend Marie and I loved hearing about the "new" teenagers as she said they would be on the phone for hours. She was a bright light and she's gone way too soon. Rest in perfect peace Marie
